Dragon Event Quest Guide
Guide for all those starting the quest and not knowing what to expect.
REMEMBER: to get to Ran Musu Gardens YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED MINISTER CHOS ESTATE MISSION
SOLO BUILDS - (I have personally tested these builds they do work it though it takes some tactics)
Warrior Build – W/N
Charge, Sprint, Executioners Strike, Penetrating Blow, Penetrating Chop, “Watch Yourself!”, Plague Touch, Healing Signet
Ritualist Build – Rt/
Cruel Was Daoshen, Spirit Rift, Ancestor’s Rage, Ritual Lord, Shelter, Union, shadowsong, Boon of Creeation.
Activate Cruel was Daoshen so it recharges before you engage. Before the ashes goes away you have to place shadowsong out of Grasps aggro range then lure him into shadowsongs range. Once it is getting constantly blinding you can it the grasp out. Drop Cruel Was Daoshen->Spirit Rift->Ancestor's Rage->Cruel Was Daoshen.
Monk Build – Mo/ (AKA the oh no its a 55 monk)
If you don't know it by now then here it is Balthazar's Spirit
Essence Bond, Blessed Aura,Mending, Protective Spirit, Blessed Signet,Shield of Judgment, Healing Breeze.
Remember to have 55 health. Only thing you have to worry about is to wait for fingers of chaos to wear off otherwise you will be interupted everytime they hit you.
If you're like me and can't stand 55monkin' then grab some henches and do it ^_^.... i technically its solo because henches aren't real people xD.
Necromancer Build – N/R
Animate Flesh Golem, Animate Bone Fiend, Blood of the Master, Charm Animal, Deathly Swarm, Death Nova, Storm Chaser, Comfort Animal.
Use the pet as a meat sheild while you do Deathly Swarm on the Grasp. When pet dies animate a flesh golem and use the flesh golem as meat shield till the grasp dies. If golem dies just summon another one.
Quest 1: The Rampaging Yetis – 40 Jade Wind Orbs
Port to Ran Musu Gardens. Exit from the West Gate.
Follow the Nav arrow to the NPC. Then follow it to a
Yetis.
lvl 12 Yetis – Necromancers
lvl 15 Yetis – …
lvl 18 Lesser Grasp - Uses Fingers of Choas which interupts you when he attacks and blinds and cripples you.
- Start from Ran Musu Gardens (not you must have completed “Minister Chos Estate” mission to have access to Ran Musu Gardens) Upon beating the Yetis you will face the Lesser Grasp. This monster has grasping fingers that cause blind and cripple on you and interrupts on hit. This skill wears off after a while but he does put it back on. It might take some tactics to beat him.
Quest 2: The Shrine of Maat - 50 Jade Wind Orbs
- Talk to NPC outside Shing Jea Monestary
- Walk to the Nav Point shown in the Light Blue colored path.
- Beat beat the grasp and port back to Shing Jea Monestary for your reward
This one is plain and simple. What ever tactics you used to beat the first grasp you can use again to beat this one. You can run past all the enemies you meet along the way.
Quest 3: A Strange Request - 60 Jade Wind Orbs
- Talk to NPC outside of Shing Jea Monestary.
- Port to Ran Musu Gardens.
- Follow the orange path to the encampment and repeat tactics to kill the same grasp.
Quest 4: Darkness at Kaitan - 90 Jade Wind Orbs
This one is a bit challenging if you are going to solo it. Its much easier with henches or teammates. You will be facing not one but two Grasps at a time.
- Port to Tsumei Village.
- Exit from the south
- Talk to NPC outside
- Kill 7 Naga patrol == they are very easy, you can easily wand them down with a few hits at lvl 20. Don't forget the Naga patrol to the south outside of the minimap radar.
- Talk to npc that tells you to visit the caves.
- Go the caves.
- Clear out the caves. Try to attack small groups at a time. No more than 2. Especially if you are soloing or with henches.
- Finish them off and the portal will close and go recieve your reward.
You should have accumulated 240 Jade Wind Orbs from these quests alone. These quests are very quick and can be done on other charecters to multiply the amount of Jade Wind Orbs you have. I have done it on 5 charecters and have over 1250 Jade Wind Orbs, without spending time farming.

Where is captain Raijyo (spelling)? After you finish all those quests, the quest giver tells you to go talk to him for more information, but I cannot find him!

If you want to solo with an ele (so far its the fastest that I've done it with)
1. Rodgort's Invocation
2. Star Burst (Elite)
3. Flame Burst
4. Inferno
5. Fire Ball
6. Flare
7. Fire Atunement
8. Healing Breeze (just in case)
Fire 12+1+3
Energy 11+1
Healing 6
If you hit the skills in this order, any lvl18 will drop by the time you get to inferno. You can take out Flare and put something for a speed boost. I only used it to get some extra orbs on the way, single shot takes out any lvl 2 and you can spam it quickly.

with ranger just use a beastmaster it kills pretty much everything
a little tricky with the 2 graspings grps but generally no problem
Atributes
Max Beastmaster
12 expertise
rest in wilderness survival
Call of Haste
Poisonous Bite
Scavenger Strike
Enraged Lunge
Brutal Strike
Comfort Animal
Charm Animal
Troll Unguent
just cast in that order and the Grasping should be down to 10 percent health

That's the build I used (minus dirty Axe skills, Plus sword skills). It was easy up until I had to fight two grasps together....

The Grasps Fingers of Chaos dont Cripple and Blind any class. If you read the discription, it says that their attack blinds and cripples Warrior Class, interrupts Elementalist Class, removes enchantments on Monk Class, unavoidable attack Ranger Class. About Rt and A I didnt bother checking what it does.
Anyway, rest of the post is nice. Completed it 6 times now.

ran a simple w/me swordbuild (sever, gash, final thrust, wild blow, charge, sprint, healing sig, dolyak signet). Only tricky part was during the tanking of 2 grasps, but meh couldn't be arsed to switch to monk or necro secundary.

Same here.
Mesmer can solo grasps using illusion - degen with snares or illusion of haste. Just degen and run in circles.
Low level henchies not from Ran Musu Gardens can do everything except the last quest, you can just get some warriors to tank for you for that.

Did it on my Ranger with the following:
13 expertise
13 WS
10 marks
Read The Wind / Ignite Arrows
Pin Down
Hunter's Shot
Poison Arrow
Troll Unguent
Zojun's Haste
Dodge
Storm Chaser
The first 4 are all you really need. The sprints are just there because all these damn quests are so far from where you get them. I found that sprinting there made the time go more quickly.

I know we're a little into it by now, but I'm seeing alot of assassins waiting and waiting for a group cause they can't solo these quests. I've even gone with a few to help out and they end up dying when we get to the caves
So here the one I used to solo the quests:
1. Jagged Strike
2. Fox Fangs (any low energy off-hand will do)
3. Blinding Powder
4. Enduring Toxin
5. Seeping Wound {Elite}
6. Viper's Defense
7. Dark Escape (To hurry things along)
8. Shadow Refuge (Just in case)
Dagger Mastery 6+1+3
Deadly Arts 5+1
Shadow Arts 10+1
Critical Strikes 13+1
I like to start with viper's defense to hurry things along...but it's not necesary...the main point is the degen along with the blinding...and it takes about 15 seconds to take down your opponent and no worries about the the fingers of chaos since it does not affect assassins or ritualists.

The Captain is released now. He has a pretty hard mission to close these rift portals (I didnt get far into it as I didnt have a group and saw lvl 28 spirits).

With a level 20 character, you should be able to solo these with any offensive build. The last quest, however, is so much quicker with a party that it's worth it to pick up three people in Tsumei before heading out.

lol, was soloing the last one with a b/p spike hybrid kinda build and had cleared the right arc in the cave. Phone rang, ran to a safe spot, took the call, 10 minutes later came back and there were about a dozen of the bloody things!!!
Didn't realised they spawned over time from the rift
Still managed it though
